To whom it may concern:
Greetings;
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Denver Division,
supports the objectives of the Colorado Missing Children Task Force/Vector
Foundation and it is our intent, through our Community Outreach
Specialist, to remain an active member supporting the future efforts
of this project.
The FBI Community Outreach Program (COP) mission
is to provide the comprehensive programs that deal with the multiple
interrelated societal problems, including drugs, gangs, crime and
violence prevention in support of the investigative mission of the
FBI. The COP places a special emphasis on youth. We consider prevention
an integral part of the law enforcement function and believe education
is a vital component of that effort. Our mission allows us to join
existing nonprofit organizations to work toward a safer community
for all citizens, especially our youth. The Colorado Missing Children
Task Force/Vector Foundation is just one example of positive preventive
measures of which we are proud to be a part.
As a new member of the project, we have been active
in providing educational information and programs to the community.
The COP has provided thousands of families/parents with fingerprints
of their children at no cost along with a wealth of safety and preventive
material. Only by working together has this team been able to reach
so many.
Sincerely,
Mark J. Mershon
Special Agent in Charge
